notes: Anton Petrov; every thread of immortality has its roots. If Aeon is the source pool, then Anton is the river that pours out. Divinity is largely a mystery to the humans that know of its existence and to those who don't, they believe it to be little more than a myth. Whats not quite understood is what it really is. Is it just a liquified form of energy like oil in terms of how it functions? Is it like plasma? Neither camp can decide exactly where it belongs, but they have agreed that if it could be harnessed, it could change things for humanity as they know it.

Divinity is passed down by those of ages old. They are the guardians who humanity often refer to as the Ancients or the Old Ones. These beings are AEON's acolytes, crafted individually and given shape. They take on a human's form and they roam the world, blending in.

They come and go in cycles. The first cycle came before humans and the second, before the middle ages. The third came afterwards and has persisted into the modern era. Anton is the last of his cycle and its a curious thing how he's held fast. Divinity is eternal and yet not, as AEON didn't create them [ the Ancients ] to last forever. They must return to him and start over in new forms. Although they are at their cores merely extensions of himself, they also have their own unique blueprints. They exhibit humanlike behavior, almost as if they have souls to call their own.. and maybe that, in itself, is what gives the rare few the drive to persist longer.

Divinity is the supporter of life. It bleeds into every crevice of the known and unknown. It can heal and mend, but in the same beat it can tear and shred. Without it, humanity and the many other creatures that populate the planet would cease to exist. Yet, if humans become too curious, too greedy and seek out what they should not, they will burn. The Læonea understand this and are the only mortals [ long lived species ] who have taken Divinity's hand.

Anton is little more than divinity given human form.

He is the one who extended his hand to Hawthorne and thus, divinity was gifted to the Læonea.. but as its said, there is a cost. Hawthorne accepted the consequences, knowing what would happen. Now that he has forfeited his own blood for Divinity, he, too, is tied to the AEON and is anchored by Anton. One day, he will burn to ash but that ash will not be scattered across the earth.

AEON will wait. Patiently.
